NetManager
NetManager (NetM) belongs to the network management systems provided by Nokia Siemens Networks for the operation of telecommunication networks. It provides services and applications for the operation, administration, and maintenance of next generation network elements (NE). The NEs are operated centrally from an operations system (OS).
NetManager consists of the NetManager base system and the NetManager application, which can be flexibly extended by one or more Task DB Packages (TP). The basic aim of NetManager is to provide generic functions that are common for all next generation network products as part of a core system and to support network-element-specific implementation in the TP.
The NetManager base system supports all necessary interfaces, protocols, and operational tasks, to ensure 100-percent operability of the solution.
The main operational tasks performed on NetManager are:
- Configuration management to create, modify and delete any object, such as subscriber data
- Security management to ensure access rights only to authorized operators
- Fault management for network supervision, fault detection and guided clearance
- Test management for detection of faulty lines or trunks
- Basic management is performed in the NetManager Workbench application using basic operation, administration, and maintenance (BOAM) tasks to configure and maintain SURPASS hiE 9200
- BootP support provided by the NetManager base application basic configuration and system setup (BCSS)
